Playing with tutorials and doing some research can yield interesting results. The picture below is inspired by fairy tales for (young) adults - laser beams, fantasy universes, the bad, the good and the ugly… and knights, too. What do you think about the retouching work? Does it look fantastic enough? It was shot in the studio in Paris (using a purple gel on the camera-left light) and then post-produced for special FX. Model: Steeve.

Alex did a great job as a model although (and you would not be able to tell out of the pictures we made) he had no experience with posing or modeling. We shot a couple of pictures with different accessories and with various lighting - one of them was a shot with his firefighter uniform. If you like the picture take a look at some more photos of Alex on www.jancphoto.com.

I took advantage of the blue wall in Noah’s place against which we did most of the shooting to create a cutoff and replace the solid background with something more colorful and urban. The background is actually a picture of a wall in the Czech republic, roughly 8000 kms far away from Atlanta. Does the compo look realistic?

I spent a week in Atlanta and managed to set up a shoot using my Nikon SB-900 strobes mounted on tripods and umbrella holders. Also wanted to test the radio trigger and I must say it worked like a charm as you can see on this picture of Noah who was my model. Noah is from Atlanta and did a great job in the improvised conditions we had for the shoot. This picture is the first one from the series.
