I recently came back to the series I shot with Bak in March and realized some of the photos we made and that I initially put aside were still worth showing. This is one of them - a beautiful pose marked with gravity, quite different from the rest of the series where most pictures were rather joyful and fun. After the “fashion” shoots and some other experiences I decided to try something quite different and more inspired by the cinema. Although I have never shot a movie myself, a good friend of mine is a director and I helped him in a short movie so I remembered what a “story board” is. I also met Kévin who is the brother of a model I shot about a year ago, and he agreed to work on a series of texts to illustrate my latest pictures. One afternoon we walked in the streets of Paris and started shooting with the idea to compose a “story board” with the photos - here is an example. This shot was inspired to me by a beautiful poem by Oscar Wilde (who is burried here in Paris, by the way). A friend of mine who is a writer told me to stop making redundancies by adding unnecessary symbols and subtitles to the depicted themes (such as a fireman and a fire next to it - just in case someone has not understood it) so this time I’m trying to be more subtle… not sure I am, but trying.
