This is an example of a modes attempt to create an African ambiance in the studio. The model is not African but the statue is and comes from Benin, the country of woodoo. With no other war paint at hand we used baby powder to cover Steve’s face and then I asked Steve to wrap the statue in a firm but tender way. The idea was to create something peaceful and tender.
